Bloomsburg Field Hockey Defeats East Stroudsburg

BLOOMSBURG — Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntington Valley/Lower Moreland) scored four goals to lead the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 5-1 win Saturday afternoon against East Stroudsburg University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game.

Bloomsburg got on the scoreboard quickly when Vanartsdalen and Ashley Heckard (Millerstown/Greenwood) scored back-to-back goals four minutes into the first half. East Stroudsburg scored in the last few minutes of the half to cut the Huskies lead.

In the second half, Vanartsdalen scored the Huskies' last three goals, one from an assist by Liz Macready (Denver/Cocalico). Allison Ziants (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) had two saves for Bloomsburg.

The Huskies (6-1, 3-1 PSAC) return to action Wednesday night at 4:00 p.m. when they travel to Mansfield University.
